The East End is the precinct Hume actually sits in, the strip of Rundle Street and the laneways branching off it that make up Adelaide's liveliest concentration of cafés, restaurants, bars and boutiques. It's less a tourist attraction than a genuine neighbourhood, which is exactly what makes it worth exploring rather than skipping past on the way to somewhere else.

Because it's right on Hume's doorstep, there's no need to plan a special trip. It's where you'll naturally end up for a morning coffee, a casual dinner, or a drink after a day of sightseeing elsewhere in the city, and it holds its own energy well into the evening when much of the rest of the CBD has quietened down.
